Riding versions and mid-campaign reorders

A party running candidates across many ridings is printing one design many times, with a different name, riding, and official agent line on each. Rebuilt by hand that is where errors enter, and the error that matters most is the wrong agent on the wrong riding's signs.

We set it up as a versioned run from one approved master. The layout is proofed once, the variable fields are supplied as a list, and each riding's signs come off with its own details and its own count. It costs less than treating each riding as a separate job and it removes the class of mistake that comes from copying files.

We keep the file for the length of the campaign. A reorder in week three is a quantity and a delivery date, not a new prepress cycle, which is exactly what you want when signs have gone missing and the phone is already ringing.
